What to expect: Join Friends of Lakeside Nature Center (Stream Team 175) for the 24th Annual Project Blue River Rescue, where we expect about 1,000 volunteers to clean up 75 tons of trash, plant 400 trees and remove honeysuckle from about two acres! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed, and we also can arrange dedicated sites for groups.
T-shirts, work gloves, trash bags, and tools will be provided. Donuts, coffee, and juice will be served at sign-in.
What to bring: Come prepared for working outside in dirty, possibly muddy, places.
- Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. They are absolutely necessary for your safety.
- Long pants are recommended.
- Volunteers are also encouraged to bring insect repellent and a reusable water bottle.
